Spotted in Silicon Valley: Starbucks traveling backpack of coffee

Imagine strapping a hot 3 gallon coffee urn onto your back. The combined weight of the liquid and the metal frame is enough to give me a backache just thinking about it. Perhaps it was designed to bring new clients in to chiropractors.

At any rate, this nice gentleman was present at a Starbucks grand opening, giving out free cups of house blend.

Spotted in Silicon Valley: The next generation law enforcement tool

This was taken at a local festival over the summer. It's not a Segway - it's the T3 Motion. T3's are especially good for busy events because the officer is raised above the crowd and therefore gains visibility. The siren and lights add to the coolness factor, but I couldn't see the donut holder.

Missing: Podracer

I photographed this unusual piece of farm equipment in 2006. When I recently drove by, it was gone and the lot was listed for sale. Some people say it was a silo dryer. I choose to think that it was flown away by a farmboy to far off Tatooine.

Sighted in San Jose: OUT of SERVICE

I took this earlier in the year, when the weather was better. On Paseo de San Antonio Walk (by the Fairmont Hotel), near Cesar Chavez Park, downtown San Jose. The officer was on break nearby, eating lunch.
