October is National Go On a Field Trip Month - Try the Cal Academy of Science
| October has the most # of commemorative celebrations associated with it. Groups and organizations use it to raise awareness of an issue, commemorate a group or event, or celebrate a specific achievement or happening. Here are some of the October commemorations: Fire Prevention Month; Domestic Violence Awareness Month; Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month; Roller Skating Month; Squirrel Awareness Month; Dyslexia Awareness Month; Toilet Tank Repair Month; Popcorn Poppin' Month; Go On a Field Trip Month In honor of National Go On A Field Trip Month, I went to the California Academy of Sciences, in Golden Gate Park. It is a great place to go with the family. Here's my tip: get there early, because the parking structure underneath the cal academy fills up fast. Once you get in, go straight to the planetarium and get tickets for a later planetarium show, or else you'll be waiting in the standby line. I got there at 11:00 am and got tickets for the 3:30 pm show. |
